Well first of all i started out on June 29 by redoing the walls and floor in the kitchen. then on July 1 we got our new appliances. a new microwave a new fridge and a stove also a new washing machine and a dryer. then we had to search high and low for a bread box because after getting rid of the old stove that had a microwave attached to it we had no place to store bread. My wife Mom and I finally found a beautiful one from the 1950s. then it was another thing to find curtains. so here are some of the shots of the kitchen so far. We have to find a new light for the kitchen yet and i have to put in new ceiling tiles then it will be done.

It's amazing what you can do when you actually get to keep your paychecks instead of sending it to university, eh?
We have one more to go and then we can have our paychecks again too! Haha!

I LOVE the microwave - I've never seen anything like that. I am so digging the red accents in the kitchen. I read once that every room needs some blood (red color) to add interest. I love the use of red in the kitchen as an accent color!
Is the floor one piece or the tiles? We used the laminate tiles and everyone thinks it's ceramic tile. Much cheaper and easier to install. It is holding up really well, too!
Curtains - don't even get me started. I have never liked my curtains no matter what I choose. I look at pictures daily for inspiration and cannot find the right look ever.
Oh well, it gives me something to do!

I love what you did to the cabinets! VERY creative!!! I would like to see a different color backsplash. Copper colored would really show off the brown and rich tones of the floor. Tin tiles are really hot right now and I'll bet you could get them at Home Depot or something and apply them right over the current backsplash. It would also bring out the brink.
